On Sunday, August 3rd the Idobi Radio Summer School Tour made it's way to Florida; stopping at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg. The tour features seven acts traveling to 23 different cities over the course of July and August. The nightly seven acts include Huddy, Arrows in Action, If Not For Me, Beauty School Dropout, Rain City Drive, Taylor Acorn, and Charlotte Sands which rotate each night so every cities experience is just slightly different. This tour is Idobi Radio's second summer school tour and packed fans into Jannus live for a fun, music filled night. Set up slightly festival style, there were also booths with giveaways and QR codes for fans to scan and win prizes. Overall, it seemed fans were having a great time throughout the night regardless of the 99 degree weather that barely let up even when the sun went down.

First up of the night to get the crowd warmed up was California native Huddy. First getting started with his music career on Tiktok, Huddy has taken off and had grown quite a fanbase; evident by the fans on barricade and even fans all the way in the back singing along to songs such as "All the Things I Hate About You" and "The Eulogy of You and Me". As the opener every night on all Summer School dates, Huddy is the perfect start to the show; his high energy warming up to crowd for the six more acts to come.

HUDDY

Following Huddy came Pennsylvania metal band If Not For Me. Though different stylistically from the other bands on the lineup, If Not For Me fit right in with the Summer School lineup and followed smoothly behind their previous act. If the crowd weren't already fans, If Not For Me made it clear that they could very well be your new favorite up and coming metal artists. Opening with track "Demons" and closing with "Feel Me Now", the band kept the energy up through their whole set and the crowd easily matched. Only set two and it was clear that the Summer School crowd came to have fun, dance, and sing along with both the acts they know and the ones that they may have discovered.

Directly after If Not For Me came Florida natives Arrows in Actions, who came out with blow up basketballs and matching tracksuits to fit the theme of Summer School and immediately had fans laughing and tossing that basketballs around the pit, even getting a few back up on stage to the band just for the cycle to continue throughout the first song. The trio opened with a partial version of "Feel It Again" which the summer school themed introduction was happening. About halfway into the set, drummer Jesse Frimmel came to the front of the stage to teach the crowd a TikTok dance; which was just a series of claps and stomps that went with their song "Head in the Clouds". The three-piece had fans dancing and singing for their entirety of their set before ending with "Uncomfortably Numb" and leaving fans excited for even more summer school artists.

Nearing a halfway point of the night came California-based Beauty School Dropout, a band that the crowd was clearly ready for. The entirety of Jannus Live, which had by now filled up pretty decently as the night went on, was dancing and singing to their electric set. The band made it a point to come down onto the speakers to interact with fans, which only made them more energetic. The band sang two song from upcoming album "WHERE DID ALL THE BUTTERFLIES GO?" but also made sure include older, fan favorites like "A$$A$$IN" and "FIGHT MODE"; which concluded the bands seven-song set.

The night continued with the last full band; Rain City Drive. With each new act came pockets of fans that were singing and jumping for what seemed to be their favorite artist of the night, and Rain City Drives set was no different. The Florida natives opened with "Lose My Composure" from their album that dropped last year and even played most recent single "Ride or Die" about halfway throughout the set. Ending their setlist with "Medicate Me", Rain City Drive finished their set and made way for the final two acts of the night.

Finishing off the night were the last two sets of the Summer School Tour at Jannus Live; Nashville based singer Taylor Acorn and pop-punk artist Charlotte Sands. You could easily tell who had been waiting all day for the final two acts of the night as they waited, watching the stage as each artist came and went until there were only two left.

Taylor Acord was second to last; taking a few minutes to greet some fans on barricade from backstage before working through her ten-song setlist. Fans who had been waiting in the heat since 4 PM were just as energetic as they were when they show originally started; singing along to Acorn's newest single "Goodbye, Good Riddance" which recently came out and quickly rose to be one of the artists most popular songs. Closing with hit "Psycho", Acorn left the stage with fans excited and ready for the last act of the night to conclude their day at summer school.

To conclude Summer School a long five hours after it started came final act, Charlotte Sands. Known for her melodic and meaningful pop-punk tracks, Sands was a great ending to everyone's day at summer school. Not losing an ounce of energy, familiar faces who had been waiting all night sang along to opening track "Tantrum" followed by clear crowd favorite "Bad Day"; which had the whole venue singing and dancing along. The energetic nine-track set took fans through the artist's various discography and ended the night popular track "Dress" followed by newest single "HUSH" to close out summer school at Jannus Live.

Overall, all seven acts of the Summer School Tour brought their invidicuality to the stage to create a fun, welcoming, and fast-paced exciting night for fans. Be it coming for one artist or all six, the Summer School tour spent another year creating a fun place for fans to mingle, sing, dance, and maybe even discover new artists. Although the last day of the tour just passed making summer school out of session, hopefully Idobi Radio comes together for a year three next summer.
