Sevendust took over the Sherman Theater on March 16th with their tour “In Dust We Trust”. Currently touring with Disturbed and Three Day Grace, Sevendust is also offering this headline tour with Horizon Theory.  Along with Sevendust; you had bands like Black Dawn, Another Day Dawns, and Horizon Theory. This created one hard rock event at Sherman Theater, or as Sevendust called it, a family reunion.

To start the show off were Black Dawn, Another Day Dawns, and Horizon Theory. These bands each offer a different taste in the metal genre. Black Dawn offers more of a metal/hardcore vibe. Another Day Dawns brought more of the high-energy rock vibe. Horizon Theory ties all of this with metal and high energy. At the same point, for a band like Sevendust that has played a whole genre bend of different metal, it works for this bill.  All brought high energy to the set before Sevendust hit the stage, warming up the crowd for what was to come.

Sevendust hits the stage. The room's energy shifts quickly to full attention to the band. They are fully into Sevendust turning up at the Sherman Theater. Lead singer Lajon Witherspoon makes a point of how saying they are touring with Disturbed right now but made sure to come to Sherman Theater for a family reunion. At one point at the beginning of the set, guitarist Clint Lowery makes sure children in the front row have guitar picks they can take home with them.

Lajon kept calling the Sherman Theater to show a family reunion seeing people they grew up with at this show. It's something that sticks in the audience’s head. They had someone come up and sing with them. Lojan mentions how you can tell they are comfortable at this show when they are all that. He made jokes about how it was a Sunday night and everyone was going hard despite possibly going to work or school the next day. Lajon even says he will write a doctor's note. “When they say you are tired,” Lojan begins to say, “You say you were at a Sevendust family reunion.”

The family part is very important in this show. Sevendust made sure this was like revisiting long time family members and having fun. Just this family reunion was brought with powerful rock music. They made points of making people say hi to the person next to them if they never met. While having to pause and make sure someone is okay, Lojan made a point to not letting anyone go down at the show. Near the end of the show, he thanked the pit for being safe this whole show.

Sevendust ends their show with “Face to Face.” Sevendust will still be on tour with Disturbed and Three Days Grace and their “In Dust We Trust” headline date with Horizon Theory. Tickets are stlil available for both tours coming up. Show dates and tickets can be found https://sevendust.com/
