SHOW REVIEW: FEELSGOOD at PhilaMOCA
August 29, 2024

On Sunday, August 25th, New Jersey-based pop punk band FEELSGOOD performed an electrifying show at PhilaMOCA. Playing third on a four-band ticket, the trio contributed heavily to the positive energy of the evening. FEELSGOOD is currently comprised of three very talented men: Hunter, Troy and Trey. They formed in 2022 and are almost finished with their first-ever tour, the “East Coast Best Coast Tour.” They visited PhilaMOCA on the second to last stop, treating the Philly area to a good ol’ pop punk show, which is always appreciated.

The band performed eight songs, one of which being a cover of “She’s Kinda Hot” by 5 Seconds of Summer. Their stage presence and fan interaction throughout the night was very captivating, always pointing or smiling at someone, or leaning into the crowd with a microphone to let them sing into it. Those moves never fail to engage people, whether or not they’re a fan of the band performing. FEELSGOOD’s sound is very reminiscent of early 2000s pop punk, like Blink-182 and The Click Five, making them easy to love. Their tracks such as “Pretty Little Liar” and “19 (Teenage Dream)” are top contenders for my favorite of theirs.
The talent these performers hold is truly immeasurable. Troy and Trey are both in other bands, Ways to the Grave and Faded Two Gray, respectively. FEELSGOOD is Hunter’s baby, though– he has come a long way from an old band he was apart of, Set Into Motion. I met Hunter in line for Waterparks’ FANDOM Tour in 2019; he was performing acoustic songs for the people in line with his old bandmate. 5 years later, he’s on a tour of the east coast (and Nashville)! This group is so deserving of all the love and attention they’re getting. Maybe one day they’ll open for Waterparks themselves!

FEELSGOOD’s tour may be ending on August 30th, but there will be more opportunities to catch them in a city near you in the future. Show these young musicians some love on their socials, usually found under some variation of “bandfeelsgood” or “thebandfeelsgood!”
