Feelings Were Found On The Origami Angel Tour  Review by Lily Dixon

Hailing from the DMV, that’s Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia for those not in the loop, Ryand Heagy and Patrick Doherty make-up the math-rock duo Origami Angel. The pair recently started embarking on a North American tour in support of their freshly released third album; Feeling Not Found.

The tour recently rolled through Orlando, FL on October 26th at The Beacham. Opening up the show was Forests who came all the way from Singapore. They brought their own spin on mid-west emo that really resonated with the crowd. Next up, there was mid-west emo band Macseal. They had everyone singing along to most of their set which was great to see. The final opener was Canadian emo outfit Arm’s Length. The audience was super hype during their set and screaming along to all the songs. They are definitely a great live band and know how to captivate a crowd!

The audience was amped up when Origami Angel finally took the stage! They focused their set on the new album with tracks like “Dirty Mirror Selfie,” “Living Proof,” and “Wretched Trajectory.” Their set also included some of their more popular songs like “24hr Drive-Thru” and “The Title Track” both of which are from their first album, Somewhere City. Heagy gave a wonderful speech about how much the song “Skeleton Key” means to the fans and the crowd was super excited that they were playing it. They had everyone jumping up and down and singing along; it made the audience feel like one big family. Seeing the duo live is incredible as they perform with no other people so they get creative with the production. They wrapped the night up with “Feeling Not Found", the new album’s title track, featuring Marty from Arm’s Length.

This was only the second time I got a chance to see Origami Angel live but they truly put on a unique show. I especially love that they are also from the DMV and I can have that personal connection with the band. The energy and vibes are unmatched and I highly recommend seeing this tour if you can! You can catch Origami Angel on tour through November 24th. Their third album Feeling Not Found is available through Counter Intuitive Records and on all streaming platforms now!
