Super American Brings the Noise to Orlando on The Gangster of Love Tour
By Lily Dixon

There are very few bands that I love as much as Buffalo, NY duo Super American. The duo, consisting of Patrick Feeley and Matt Cox, has been embarking on a North American tour to support their recently released third album, Gangster of Love.
I was fortunate enough to catch the tour when it came through Orlando, FL on August 15th at Will's Pub. Orlando natives Better Place got the energy going with infectious 5th Wave Emo style tracks and even a cover of the Mom Jeans' song "Edward 40hands." They brought such a fun and youthful vibe to the lineup that shows that emo isn't dead. Next up was singer-songwriter Sydney Sprague whose catchy but emotional songwriting captivated the audience. Her performance was an amazing mix of current pop with hints of emo and alternative vibes sprinkled in. Both openers helped set the tone for the headliner set. I wanted to mention that Summerbuise was supposed to play, but unfortunately had been battling sickness and did not play this show.
By the time 10 pm came around the audience was ready for what they had been waiting for! Super American played songs from every era and for every fan. Their set included some of their more popular songs like "How Big Is Your Brain?" and "Hot Dog" but also some lesser-known tracks like "Sleeping In Jeans." As this was the Gangster of Love tour the group gave the crowd plenty of songs from the album in the set. The audience was extremely excited when the duo announced they would be playing "Sloppy Jazz," from their first ep Disposable. They had everyone jumping up and down and singing along. Feeley and Cox work so well together on stage which is only dialed up even more with the support of their touring guitarist Aidan Licker and touring drummer Robert Brennan. They are truly a band like no other and have added such a unique sound to the scene in recent years.

Every time I have the chance to see Super American they never cease to amaze me. They have so much energy and passion for performing and know how to put on a great show! My favorite part was definitely seeing one of my favorite songs "Casino Blonde," off their first album Tequila Sunrise, and getting to spend time with people who love the band as much as I do!
You can catch Super American on the Gangster of Love tour through September 22nd and then supporting Neck Deep on the Dumbstruck Dumbfuck tour starting in October. Their third album Gangster of Love is available through Wax Bodega Records on all streaming platforms now.
