This upcoming Friday, you’ll find a new drop from newly-independent band Cherie Amour. If you’re already familiar with the band, you’ll know that they have a genre mixed discography that gets people off their feet and if you’re not already familiar but have been looking for something new to listen to, the Baltimore-based outfit may be the perfect new DIY band for you to discover. We had the chance to check out the track early and share some details about the energetic track before it officially releases.

Towards the end of October, Cherie Amour began teasing the release of a new single and almost a month later, towards the end of November, they finally shared that their new single EONS will be released on December 6th. Eons is the band's first release since recently becoming fully independent, and fans shared their eagerness to hear the track as soon as it’s upcoming drop was shared. The band also shared Eons includes another first for the four-piece; a feature. The feature wasn’t disclosed to fans prior to the drop, causing several excited comments to ensue trying to figure out who the feature could be. Once you hear the single, you immediately feel that the feature is very fitting for the band's known-nature to move effortlessly between genres; even within one song.
Cherie Amour guitarist Brendan shared with us that this new single means a lot to them, especially being their first independent release; and the importance of the song is evident not only in the sound, but in everything that band has been doing prior to the drop. Over a year after their last release, it’s clear that both the band and their fans are happy for their return and you can see and feel the passion that was put into Eons. He also shared "Eons as a whole is a great depiction of out band. We love to mix all of our favorite styles of music into one energetic song; --We have always mixed genres in our music, but I think this time around we leveled up in making it all sound more digestible, more cohesive, and even catchier for the listener."
Upon first play of Eons, the immediately electric beat pulls you in, with hints of the feature playing in the background that may not be noticeable until your second listen. Cherie Amour is known for perfectly moving around different sounds within their discography, but Eons is a pure example of how good the band is at including different sounds and elements from different genres that gives them their unique sound. Eons may be the perfect example that you can include different elements within the same song and still come up with a cohesive and fun track for fans to enjoy.
After the first verse and chorus of the song, you're met by the feature that the band was teasing prior to the release; a verse entirely in Spanish that flows right into the pace and sound of the first verse. The sound is only surprising for a split second until if effortlessly melts into the overall aesthetic of a song, blending effortlessly with the following chorus. Knowing exactly how to blend sounds together, the song continues include Latin elements as well as sprinkes of rock, metal, r&b, and more into one, perfected curated sound that somehow just flows together to create Eons.
As the song comes to a close, the genre-blending continues to end the song a more heavier note, possibly even leaving the listener wanting more. We can imagine that existing Cherie Amour fans will want more of this independent sound from the band, and new fans will be intrigued by their ability to blend sounds together so effortlessly. Overall, Eons fits perfectly into Cherie Amour's already existing discography while introducing new sounds and elements for the band that will help them move forward, especially with their recently gained independence.
Eons is out tomorrow, December 6th.
